All-electric injection molding machines — 50 to 4,500 kN

Servo-driven, no hydraulics, no oil to change. The LX series runs a repeatability of ±0.01 mm on a cycle fast enough for medical and optical parts, at roughly half to a fifth of the energy a hydraulic machine of the same size would draw.

What you actually gain by going electric

The honest trade-off, stated up front

An all-electric machine replaces every hydraulic function with a servo motor and screw drive. Nothing is gained by pretending that is right for every job — it is not. But where the part is precision-critical or the energy bill matters, the difference is large and measurable.

EnergyNo oil heated by clamping force that has to be cooled afterwards. 50–80% lower consumption versus a comparable hydraulic machine, and the saving scales with how many shifts you run.
Repeatability±0.01 mm on the critical dimensions, held cycle after cycle. No oil temperature drift, no seal wear accumulating over months.
Clean and quietNo hydraulic oil to top up, dispose of or clean up after a leak. Noise low enough to run next to assembly and packaging without ear protection.
Control responseEtherCAT bus with cycle time under 2 ms, so the machine can follow the mould's real dynamics instead of approximating them.
Where it is not the right choice All-electric wins on precision and energy. It loses on two things, and we will tell you before you buy, not after: 1. Purchase price. For a given clamping force, an electric frame costs more up front than a hydraulic one. 2. Very high tonnage in a small footprint. Above roughly 2,000 kN, hydraulic machines remain the more practical choice for cost and clamp force per square metre of floor. If your part is a crate, a bucket or a pallet box, hydraulic is the sensible answer. Tell us the part and we will say so.

The LX series at a glance

Clamping force, typical shot weight and where each size fits

These are the sizes we most often supply. Not every tonnage in between is a standard configuration — if you need something outside this range, send the part and we will confirm what is available.

ModelClamping forceTypical shot weight (PS)Screw diameterTypical applications
LX550 kNup to ~10 g14 mmMicro-precision, medical, connectors, optics
LX25250 kNup to ~110 g22 mmLaboratory devices, small housings, caps
LX50500 kNup to ~250 g28 mmOptical parts, small containers, thin-wall packaging
LX90900 kNup to ~500 g32 mmMedical components, precision fittings
LX1301,300 kNup to ~800 g36 mmTechnical parts, automotive interior, electronics housings
LX1801,800 kNup to ~1,200 g40 mmMedical devices, appliances, optical assemblies
LX2502,500 kNup to ~1,800 g45 mmLarger housings, industrial parts
LX3203,200 kNup to ~2,600 g50 mmAutomotive and larger structural parts
LX4504,500 kNup to ~4,000 g55 mmLarge automotive, pallets, heavy-duty packaging

Note: shot weights are indicative and depend on the resin's specific gravity and the material's shrinkage allowance. Final configuration — screw L/D, plasticising capacity and injection unit size — is matched to your part when we quote. Clamp force is calculated, not guessed: we size against your part's projected area at the required filling pressure, with a safety factor, rather than selling the next size up.

Control system

What your operators actually work with

The LX machines run CODESYS-based control over an EtherCAT fieldbus. In practice that means the machine follows your process settings rather than fighting them — which is what makes the repeatability figure hold up in production rather than on a spec sheet.

ItemSpecification
Control platformCODESYS with EtherCAT fieldbus
Bus cycle timeUnder 2 ms
Repeatability±0.01 mm (critical dimensions)
Drive typeFully electric servo, no hydraulic circuit in the clamp or injection unit
Barrel zonesMulti-zone PID, individually controlled per zone
Recipe storage and recallStore settings per part so a changeover does not depend on someone remembering the last settings. Reduces both scrap and setup time.
Mould protectionPosition and pressure limits per mould, so a mis-pick or insert misalignment stops the machine rather than moulding into a damaged tool.
Process data captureCycle data can be exported, which matters when you need to show a customer a stable capability record rather than a single good run.

Where these machines are usually specified

Sectors where precision tolerance and clean operation are not optional
Medical devicesConnectors, casings, fluid handling parts, housings for diagnostic equipment — where material consistency and surface finish both have to hold.
Optical partsLens barrels, lens holders and precision mounts. Tight dimensional control matters more than shot size.
Electronics housingsThin-wall housings, connectors, sensor bodies. Repeatability keeps wall thickness even, which keeps the part cosmetically acceptable.
Precision packagingThin-wall containers and caps where a consistent wall directly affects both appearance and pack performance.
Automotive interiorConsole and trim components with tight repeatability across long production runs.
Laboratory equipmentSmall precision assemblies where the whole output of the machine is small and every unit is critical.

What to send for a proper quotation

The more you give us, the less we have to ask you for
1

The part

Drawing, 3D file, or even photographs with dimensions written on them. Weight finished and the projected area of the part.

2

Material

Resin grade, whether it is filled or unfilled, and whether you need virgin or recycled material. This changes both drying time and screw choice.

3

Volume

Annual quantity and how many shifts you intend to run. Cycle time targets are far more useful than total annual tonnage when we size a machine.

4

Destination

Port or city, and any voltage, standard or certification requirement in the destination country. We quote FOB or CIF as you prefer.

No drawings yet? Send the finished part weight, the resin and the cycle you are trying to hit. That is usually enough for us to propose a machine size. You can still send drawings later — it will only make the quotation tighter.

How we quote

Machine size is calculated from your projected part area at the required filling pressure, with a safety factor applied — not rounded up to the next frame to make the number look better. Screw and plasticising unit are matched to your resin and shot weight. If a smaller machine will do the job, we will say so, because a correctly sized machine pays you back in cycle time and energy for years. Third-party inspection is available on request, and the quotation is valid for 30 days.

Send us the part — get a machine recommendation

Tell us the drawing or weight, the resin and your annual volume. We will come back with a machine size and a price, usually within 4 hours on business days.
